Yesterday we asked which “Original” Chappelle Show character is your favorite. Today I bring part 2. What is your favorite “Celebrity Impression” from the Chappelle Show.
Dave Chappelle is a Genius! We all know that, and even though the show is over it is still one of the funniest things around. The fact that Dave left made it even more classic. Every Tuesday i create these polls to find out popular opinion, about debates my peers and I have. Who is the best “Original” Chappelle character? I say original because everyone will say Rick James Bitch right away so I wanted the survey to be more controlled. I will do a follow up vote later about Chappelle’s “Impressions”. Lets see who is the funniest, or favorite. BIG UPS PJ for the idea!!
Many of you may remember a song that dropped in the early 90′s called Gangsta Bitch. A very controversial song at the time, because of its blatant use of the word “bitch” in the title and chorus. Apache was one of the original members of the Flavor Unit. The Flavor unit camp is responsible for the careers of Queen Latifa as well as Naughty by Nature. The hit “Gangsta Bitch” was produced by Q-Tip as one of his first non-tribe ventures. Apache passed away after a long battle with an unspecified illness. Lets celebrate his contribution of hip hop.
With 33% of the total vote, Chris Tucker as Ruby Rhod in The 5th Element. He looks like a snork from Atlanta. The all time worst movie haircut. SMH but it did make for funny conversation. Jermaine Jackson and that shell he has on his head were a close second.
Why do we like Jay Electronica? What is the allure to this new emcee? Is it that so many established emcee’s have jumped on the bandwagon? Or is it something else? I believe it’s the rare combination of lyrics, quality beats, delivery, and an artistic expression. With so much commercialism, real listeners search for that feeling in Hip Hop. The intangible feeling you get when you hear a song that speaks to you personally. It’s more like Soul Hop. Many times in music today we have a predecessor to compare our favorite artists too, we have a root from whence this artistic vision sprung up from. We do not have that with Electronica. His delivery reminds me of none, his lyrical content reminds me of none, his tone is unlike any other. It’s the freshness of it, the unknown but very familiar sound that he creates. It’s invisible poetry. Forget Exhibit C! Thats a dope cut but really check what this guy has to offer. You figure it out!
Classic soul crooner, Teddy Pendergrass has passed away due to complications from his colon cancer surgery. We have lost a great piece of soul music history. Here is my favorite Teddy cut. I hope you enjoy.
Wyclef Jean is asking friends and fans to pray for the people of his native Haiti after the island was hit by deadly earthquake on Tuesday. The magnitude 7.0 quake slammed into the impoverished Caribbean island, toppling buildings in the capital Port-au-Prince, burying residents in rubble and causing many deaths and injuries. Reports suggest the triple quake caused the collapse of buildings, including a hospital, which tumbled into a ravine.
Death tolls are expected to reach into the thousands. The former Fugees star is requesting assistance for survivors of the quake that struck near the capital yesterday afternoon.
Those who would like to help with the Quake Relief Efforts, may donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund by texting “Yele” to 501501 (the amount will be charged to the person’s cell phone bill) or or can visit www.Yele.org and click “Donate.”
