2010 is OVER! Now we embark on 2011 and might i say that the last years music was refreshing! I found lots of new artist that made me happy about hip hop again. More organic artist entered the scene in the last two years and the new year promises to be one of good music. Who do you think will have a big year in 2011? What new artist are you looking forward to hearing more from. Here are a list of my new favorites!
Curren$y the Hot Spitta
Once a part of the Young Money Movement. Spitta broke out on his own and attacked the underground with a slew of mixtape and features. Pilot Talk 1 and 2 dropped in 2010 and I copped BOTH! The JETS movement is gaining steam and making things happen pay attention!
Wiz Khalifa
Pittsburgh player Wiz has been all over the place with his new single Black and Yellow but caught my attention with his How Fly Mixtape collab with Curren$y. The Kush and OJ mixtape released in 2010 is CLASSIC. I expect big things from him in 2011.
Jay Electronica
Although Electronica had most of his buzz before 2010 he recently signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. So I hope he can do something with that
STALLEY
The long beard emcee from the O-H-TEN, has been seen on Curren$y features as well as the 24 hour Karate School LP by Ski Beatz. His flow is aggressive and conscience but he sounds the best over smoothed out tracks. Stalley is nice! Take Heed!
Big K.r.i.t.
Imagine the vibrato of PIMP C (Rip) mixed with the lyrical prowess of Bun B and you have Big Krit. A new Mississippi artist that has carved a niche for himself and recently signed with Def Jam. Krit got that heat! And he does his own beats!
The Cool Kids
The Midwest duo with the golden era sound! They remind me of a new era De La Soul. The Cool Kids have been around for a minute but have not gotten the attention they deserve. Lots of waits for the new album but i expect it to be well received when it finally drops this year.
Big Sean
The Motown emcee has been seen all over the place in the last few months, getting most of the new attention after ripping the BET Hip Hop Cypher with his GOOD music crew. I expect alot from my homegrown! He has the comedic content of Kanye , the lyrical fortitude of a nas type, with the arrogance of Cam! What a winning hand !
Beating out Chris Brown with 35% of the complete vote the biggest DOWNGRADE goes to RIHANNA! As fine as you are, folks are just tired of you. The antics outside of the studio have left a bad taste in the mouths of your hungry fan base. The red hair makes you look like Evil Ed in Fright Night when he dressed as Charlie’s mother. Not a good look love, get the asymmetric back in your life love. The music is decent but we know you can do better. Rude boy was a hit but who cares about anything else you might have put out recently. I hope you take heed and get it together or you’re on the way out my dear.

Another crazy late night conversation about pop culture that resulted in me posing a new question to my visitors. With all the stars in hollywood and sports who has downgraded the most from being a sex symbol or ideal standard to something you are tired of seeing or hearing about. This downgrade has nothing to do with physical appearance but more to do with personal actions. You make the call!

Jennifer Lopez or J-Lo
Rise: Started out as a flygirl, moved on to that banger in Money Train and later got super famous for her performance of “Selenas” in the biopic Selana thus transforming her into a SUPERDIVA!!
Donwfall: First not riding for Puff, totally understandable but it was all good just a week ago. Second putting out mad music with minimum skills but behaving like you do. Thats not hate, its just iight to me. Third being every damn where for a while. GO AWAY J-LO!

Rihanna
Rise: Started out as a club reggae type thing that was catchy and cute, then transformed into a slightly left from center R&B badgirl who has a spark of freak in her. Thanks for the camera pics darling!
Downfall: Not advocating the act, but why must you bring up the Chris Brown drama in every interview? Yes its bad but LET IT GO! Now it looks like you are using it to bring attention back to yourself NOT COOL! Secondly alot of the comments you have made about your personal life and lifestyle suggest that you are a bit on the trashy side. Third that red hair is pretty weak.

Chris Brown:
Rise: The cute kid with moves like MJ and a voice like no other. You were in the heart of every preteen of america with radio hits and a acting career. You were on the verge of it all Mr. Brown, and might be able to reclaim it.
Downfall: A good girl gone bad. Laying hands is a punk move, no matter what a woman does. Plus, some of the fits your rocked during your apology campaign were weak. On top of that you whined when your less than stellar album did not sale as much as you expected.

Lauren London:
Rise: From the cutey in the Frontin Video to the Banger in ATL. To the personification of what Bobby Brown called a Tenderoni!
Downfall: Letting Lil Wayne rawdog.

Lebron James:
Rise: The Chosen One!
Downfall: Believing he was The Chosen One!

Amber Rose:
Rise: The bald headed beast on Kanye’s arm, who had half of the redbones in america going for the bald blonde look. The model type chick who looked like a Grade A Slut and we loved her for it!
Downfall: Opening her mouth and speaking words.

Since the birth of YOUTUBE the internet has been the launching pad for a number of Web Stars that include the likes of Tay Zonday, and more recently 50 cent as Pimpin Curly. Now we have the lowest of the low who become famous not for the skills they possess but for the comedic result of their efforts. Who is the greatest of the worst?

Okay this is a classic debate for those of us who have ventured from our home towns to see what this bubble has to offer. All over the US we are constantly asked what we say SODA? or POP? What do you say? I’m from Michigan, Detroit Michigan to be exact and I have no idea what SOOOODAAAAA is? Some places say neither and call everything Coke, some places even say SodaPop. But I will put the question to the test. I will also show a map of the US and where they say what.

ICE CUBE
Lets face it, Ice Cube is the man! Say what you want about how his persona has changed and how you might like Curl Cube better, but lets give credit where its due. Ice Cube has been a continuing factor in Hollyweird. He has made the transition from Hip Hop to Hollywood without compromising who he is. Yeah he used to be the Bitch Killa but now he wears headwraps in Barbershops but its called growing up and I aint mad at it. Although we are big fans of Ice T and the classics he has under his belt. He was in Leprechaun in the Hood baby! We do agree with the result that Ice Cube has had a better acting career. T has done more but Cube has done better. Friday……..CAN YOU DIG IT……….MAN!
Okay we all are familiar with rappers turning into actors after their careers start to decline. Two of the original architects of this particular career move are Ice Cube and Ice T. They have both come a long way from the original personas that we know and remember, and Ice T has done alot more movies, and Cube has moved toward directing and producing. But who has the best collection of works? Both have done leading man work, both have done dramatic parts, action and comedic roles. These two have been very successful but who is the fan fave acting wise? Cube or T…
